About the local marine map – Whale Watching in Victoria

The local marine map shows the area we operate during our Whale Watching Expeditions. Our adventure begins in the beautiful Victoria Inner Harbor as we depart from the main docks in front of the famous Empress Hotel. We first venture into the Strait of Juan De Fuca, the gateway to and from the Pacific Ocean for ports such as Victoria, Vancouver and Seattle. At this time we get our first view of the majestic Olympic Mountains of the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State and possibly Mount Baker. Enjoy the rugged and picturesque coastline of Vancouver Island, the stunning beauty of the Southern Gulf Islands and pristine waters such as Haro Strait, as we guide you through our Marine Eco-Adventure. Depending on the direction we travel we may visit the impressive Race Rocks Marine Protected Area to the West or travel East to the San Juan Islands located in the US. During our 3 hour tour you will experience a rich marine biodiversity and observe various Marine Wildlife including Sealions, Seals, Porpoise, Bald Eagles, and various Whales such as Gray Whales, Humpback Whales, Minke Whales and both Transient and Resident Orcas (Killer Whales).
