It was an orca-filled day today!!
We headed eastwards towards Sooke after leaving the inner harbour this morning and found multiple orca families. In the afternoon we found more Transients near Battleship Island!
Orca families are led by the oldest female known as the matriarch. Today our guests got to see families of orcas come together to socialize, hunt and mate together. The orcas were tail-slapping, spyhopping, breaching, and showing their bellies. It was quite an exciting trip.
