Humpback Whale

On today’s trip we encountered a Humpback whale in an area called the “rockpile”. This area is located near the Victor Golf shipping lane. We watched the Humpback take shallow dives and a couple of deep dives to feed.

We also went to Race Rocks Ecological Reserve afterwards to see Harbour seals, Stellar sea lions, and Northern elephant seals. Our guests got to see two male elephant seals display aggression towards each other. Did you know Race Rocks is located at the northernmost boundary of the range of Northern elephants seals?
