Resident Orcas and Humpbacks

We had a very exciting trip today with Resident orcas and Humpback whales! Southern Resident orcas have three pods: J-, K-, and L-pod. L-pod currently has ~35 members at the moment. Resident orcas strictly eat fish, with chinook salmon making up ~85 % of their diet.

We also got to see Humpback whales on this trip. Our guests were overjoyed to see both the species today. Humpback whales eat small schooling fish. They engulf large quantities of food and water, and then expel water out to filter any fish to feed on.
