A Humpback Whale
We spent our morning with a humpback whale and a group of curious children from a local school. Not only was seeing a humpback a first for many of them, for most, it was also their first time ever out at sea. This particular humpback provided a perfect opportunity to teach the children about our local waters and how productive they are. They also got to learn how important Salish Sea is for the highly migratory humpback whales who seem to be more and more reliant on the food found here.
The children were very enthusiastic about whales of the Salish Sea, which made our trip even more delightful.
